Get used engines by Nissan into a 300ZX with these tips in mind | |
|
:: used engines Nissan :: Like many other Nismo autos, the 300ZX is a
viable candidate for one of many used engines from Nissan. Like in all
other used engines swaps time money and potential headaches are all part
of the fun in this project. It should be said that sue to the way that
Nissan structures cars, it’s possible to transplant a wide range of
engines into the 300ZX, as long as you have all the necessary parts and
willpower. To get your hands on the used engines you can use a service
such as eBay to get the specific one you’re searching for. All the RB
series engines can fit into this car with the adequate mounting parts,
as well as all the Japanese versions of the stock motor. Unfortunately,
unlike the popular Honda Civic which has a lot of swapping kits
available, the Nissan doesn’t enjoy as much convenience when it comes to
kits. Apart from the motor, you’ll need other important parts such as the transmission and the transmission mount. You see the stock transmission may not be compatible with the used motor you purchase, unless you’re in luck. The same goes with the ECU/wiring and in some cases the driveshaft. Be sure o have a hefty budget ranging form a thousand bucks to several thousands, depending on what type of engine you’re planning on transplanting. For example, getting the world famous RB26DETT under the hood of your 300ZX can easily mean a 10K investment.
