Getting rebuilt engines inside your Honda: difficult motor swaps. | |
|
:: rebuilt engines :: JDM rebuilt engines are great for powering up
your ride. A carefully JDM rebuilt engine can significantly boost your
power up as long as you keep things perfectly fit. However, some motor
swaps can become a real pain in the neck, involving heavy modification
and rebuilding to your car. Although you can make these engine swaps
feasible with enough money, sometimes it might not be worth the extra
job. No matter how good the rebuild engine appears to be, it simply
might not be a good plan to materialize the swap.
Based on what type of OBD platform a specific car comes equipped with,
it might not be a good idea to make the motor swap. Basically speaking,
planting engines with a lower OBD setting into a car with a higher OBD
standard presents heavy wire rebuilding factors that can become very
difficult and unpractical. This is true for cars and engines of all
generations. Specifically speaking, fourth generation Civics pose a
problem when it comes to engine bay clearing because, depending on the
engine it might leave you out of space for other interesting upgrades
such as a turbo.
