Things to think about when upgrading to a JDM motor | |

:: JDM motor :: So, you’ve recently acquired that sexy JDM motor
and are ready to perform the engine swap. Not so fast! There are some
critical things you should do before transplanting that JDM engine into
its new shell. Yes, JDM motors are the exceptional way to go when
looking to empower your vehicle to new heights of performance, but there
are some things you should take into account before diving in the fun.
First, remember that these Japanese motors may have been lying around
for a long time waiting to be adopted by a new owner. This means that
some of its parts may have corroded to some extent because of the
motor’s idle position. That’s why maybe you’d want to replace stuff such
as timing belts or gaskets for maximum reliability. Before making your hybrid speed through the streets, make sure you go through proper tuning. Check all the motor fluids including oils and coolant fluid to make sure your Japanese motor runs smooth and without a problem. Talk with other people who have done the swap you want to do, many hybrid car owners are happy to share their experiences as well as hints and tips of the trade. Finally make sure you’ve had some on-hand mechanics experience with motors and cars before you attempt to do anything. Even better look for a qualified technician to assist or completely make the swap for you.
