This Japanese engine’s tradeoff is that its low displacement allows for only a torque of 118 lb. Being only found in the Japanese market, as it was designed for the Type R 97 Civic, finding this engine can also become a drag.

If you insist on wanting this JDM motor installed in your Civic in spite of price and small displacement, it can be done. The B16B fits perfectly in the 5G’s engine bay so no expensive engine mounts would be required for an effective swap. However because this has OBD2, necessary alterations would be needed since 5G are originally setup for OBD1. Apart from this, the B16B is a VTEC powered engine so you need to rewire the whole thing to get the best performance out of the engine.
