:: Honda engine used :: With a Honda engine that’s used you can get
really creative and achieve speeds you could only imagine in the
different Civic generations. Broadly speaking there are 6 Honda Civic
generations that can accept crossbreed Honda engines in a used state. To
understand the basics of used engine swapping one must first familiarize
him or herself with the different Hondas available. The most practical
way to jump over this hurdle is to separate the Civics by generation.
For practical used engine swapping purposes, it’s common to begin with
the third generation civics. These would be the models manufactured
during 1984-87. The only recommended and relatively easy motor swap you
can perform on these cars is the bolt-in D16A1 featured in the late
86-89 Integra. Fourth generation and above is where the real fun of versatile engines swapping really begins. Fourth generation feature the 1988-1991 Civics which support a lot more engines. The most famous and practical motor swaps for these Hondas are using the ZC which simply bolts in or the B16A which requires a special mounting kit for compatibility. The fifth generation, 1992-1995, Hondas are the ones that enjoy maximum versatility in used motor installing. From the B18C to the B16A3 to the powerful H22A you can make this lightweight car zoom in incredible speeds. The H22A is taken from a Honda prelude and can give horsepower of up to 200HP at 7000 RPM.
