Toyota Camry engines: two words: minimum maintenance

The notable quality of Toyota Camry engines has made them quite a favorite in the world of engine swapping. Since the early 80’s the existence of the Camry was characterized by its fervent competition with its closest competitor, the Honda Accord. Out of all the Toyota Camry parts, the engine is probably the one part that makes this vehicle stand out from the rest. Currently the Toyota Camry sports one of two engines: the 3.0 L DOHC V6 engine or the DOHC 4 cylinder 2.2 L engine. These two economically engineered engines offer a low maintenance powerful drive you can add up to your present vehicle.

While you can get the V6 version of the engine with only an automatic gearbox, you can get the 4 cylinder engine with either an automatic or manual shift. Either way, as mentioned before one of the positive aspects of owning a Toyota Camry engine is that minimum maintenance is required. Nothing more than the basics are necessary to keep this engine alive for up to a potential life of up to 300,000 miles. This includes spark plugs, changing, oil changing and the occasional timing belt changes. Aside from this, Camry engines are engineered thinking about the driver, thinking about the convenient low maintenance that such drivers appreciate. Some of the newer Camry engine models even come with a timing chain instead of a timing belt, which makes them even more maintenance free than their old cousins.
